Prof. Hassan Al Alkim

As President of the American University of Ras Al Khaimah, Professor Hassan Hamdan Al Alkim has the most critical role in leading the development, maintenance, and sound execution of the university. Professor Al Alkim, as Ex Officio to the Board of Trustees, achieves this by:

1. Providing visible authentic and visionary leadership to establish AURAK as a leading university in the UAE and Gulf region
2. Engaging the university in strategy to advance its mission
3. Directing the university planning, policy making, and outcomes assessment processes
4. Leading prudent, fiscal planning to ensure efficiency, profitability, and growth of the university enterprise
5. Recruiting, supervising, and evaluating senior leaders within the university
6. Building an effective fund raising network to develop and maintain campus revenue streams
7. Promoting and marketing the university within the national, regional, and international spheres including establishing formidable partnerships to respond to the university’s education and research needs
8. Maintaining and improving the quality of education, its standards, and achievement of its reputation through ranking and accreditation on the national, regional, and international levels
